For Convenience Store & Forecourt Operators

Convenience store foodservice is the one aisle nobody can price-compare.

The roller grill is still sold with a grainy phone shot taken under the fluorescents. FoodShot restyles one prep-counter photo into a clean image for the hot-case header, pump topper and app in about 2 minutes.

C-Store Styles

Light that survives a fluorescent ceiling and a heat lamp

100+ curated styles built for the way convenience store foodservice actually has to perform. A sodium heat lamp bakes an orange cast into everything, fluorescent tubes leave green in white bread and packaging, and the chiller throws cold blue — which is why a good roller-grill frank photographs grey. FoodShot corrects all of it, then puts the item on bright clean sweeps, cool industrial greys or near-black falloff setups for the backlit hot-case header and screen loop.

Builder Mode

Surface plus backdrop plus item equals a shelf tag

Pick a surface — pale prep counter, brushed stainless, dark slate — choose a backdrop, upload your item photo, and Builder Mode composites all three, so the cigarette gantry, the condiment bar and the queue at the register never reach the frame. A c-store programme is seen as a set — hot-case header, chiller strip, eight screen tiles in one line of sight — and Builder Mode keeps the grab and go food you shot in March sitting cleanly beside last Tuesday's pizza slice.

My Styles

Lock the fascia look once, apply it to every line

Set the best image the fascia pack gave you as your style reference and every item you photograph is matched to it — same surface tone, key direction, contrast curve. The new taquito line lands on the screen loop looking like it came from the same shoot; the locked style carries to the pump topper, app tile and delivery listing. For a c store foodservice programme across several sites, one reference image is the cheapest brand-consistency control you will ever set up.

Perfect For

Every kind of convenience and forecourt operator

From a single forecourt site with one roller grill to a regional group rolling a new food programme across forty stores, the problem is the same: foodservice is the highest-margin category in the building and it is the one nobody has photographed properly.

⛽

Single-Site Forecourt Operators

Nobody is sending you creative for the new taquito line. Photograph it on the prep counter between deliveries, restyle it in about 2 minutes, and put it on the hot-case header and pump topper the same afternoon.

🌭

Roller Grill & Hot Case Programmes

A sodium heat lamp turns everything orange and the stainless throws the ceiling straight back into the lens. Shoot the frank on your counter, restyle it, and get back an image where the scorch stripes and the mustard actually read.

🥪

Made-to-Order Deli Counters

Made-to-order is the hardest sell because the customer has to believe it is fresh before they queue. Photograph one properly built sub cut on the diagonal, restyle it, and use the same image on the counter card, the app and the delivery listing.

☕

Coffee & Frozen Beverage Programmes

Condensation photographs grey, a clear cup picks up the entire store behind it, and slush colour goes muddy under fluorescents. A restyled cup keeps the colour saturated and the beading sharp, so the screen loop sells the second cup.

🥗

Grab-and-Go Chiller Ranges

Grab-and-go is bought on appetite in about four seconds, through a clear lid. Restyled imagery on the shelf strip and app tile shows what is inside the pack — the difference between a full chiller at 2pm and a markdown at 6pm.

📺

Multi-Site & Franchise Groups

Ten to forty sites, one category manager, screens and pump toppers that all need the same look. Set one style reference, photograph each new line once, and push a consistent image set to every site at the same time.

No. FoodShot never sends a photographer, never runs an on-site or studio shoot, never prints or installs a hot-case header or pump topper for you, and never invents an item you do not sell. It restyles photos you take yourself. You build the real item to spec on your own prep counter, take a phone photo of it, upload that photo, and FoodShot re-lights and re-stages that exact image — the same frank, the same bun, the same portion, the same packaging. Nothing is fabricated from scratch, which matters in a format where the customer picks the item up ninety seconds after seeing the picture. What changes is the light, the surface underneath and the clutter behind it, not the food. If your hot case cannot make it, it will not appear in your photos.

You do not have to solve it in the store, and that is the point. A sodium or halogen heat lamp sitting directly above a hot case bakes a heavy orange cast into everything under it, and a phone's auto white balance makes it worse by trying to average the fluorescent ceiling against it. Take the frank off the rollers, put it in a plain tray on your prep counter a metre away from the lamp, and photograph it there — no filter, no flash, whatever light the counter has. FoodShot corrects the colour cast, removes the fluorescent green out of the paper and the bun, and re-lights the casing so the scorch stripes and the mustard gloss read properly. Photographing it directly under the lamp is the single most common reason a genuinely good roller-grill item looks grey and tired in an in-store photo.

Yes, and it is usually the fastest win available to a single-site operator. Photograph the item once, restyle it once, then crop the same asset for each destination: wide for the hot-case header, square for the in-store screen tile and the app grid, tall for a social story, and whatever the pump-topper frame needs. Because the item is centred with real margin around it in the restyled frame, those crops do not clip the food. The one caveat is that third-party delivery marketplaces have their own conventions around framing, background and how much of the frame the food should fill. For hot-case, screen, pump-topper and first-party app use, one photograph genuinely does cover all of them, and you are producing one asset instead of four.

It photographs far better out of the chiller than in it, so take the pack out. A clear lid under a cold chiller light does three things at once: it throws a hard specular smear across whatever is underneath, it picks up a reflection of the ceiling and the aisle behind you, and the cold blue tube light drains the colour out of every fresh ingredient in the pack. Set the pack on your counter, shoot it straight down from directly above, and let FoodShot handle the rest — it corrects the blue cast, pulls the reflection off the lid so the contents read sharply through it, and puts the pack on a clean bright surface. If the salad genuinely looks better with the lid off, photograph it that way, but be honest about it, because the customer is buying the sealed pack.

Every image comes back at 2048x2048 and is optimised on delivery, which is comfortably enough for an in-store screen tile, a shelf strip, a counter card, an app card or a third-party delivery listing. Large-format forecourt media is the one case worth checking, because a full-size pump-topper panel or a canopy-height print viewed at close range can want more pixels than a screen tile does. For anything screen-based or shelf-edge, what you get is more than the display will ever resolve. Talk to whoever produces your forecourt media about their minimum before committing a single image to a large print, and note that FoodShot supplies the image file only — it does not print, ship or install physical media of any kind.

Realistically, one afternoon per daypart. Build each item to spec, take a handful of phone photos on the prep counter from a couple of angles, pick the cleanest one, and each restyle takes about 2 minutes. A twelve-line launch covering roller grill, deli, pizza and beverages with a couple of alternates each is roughly thirty-six images, or about an hour and ten minutes of actual processing, and the slow part is building the food, not the photography. That is the entire reason this exists: the gap between a food programme going live and the creative arriving is exactly where the margin leaks. You can have hot-case headers, screen tiles and app images ready for a Monday launch on the Friday before, and if a build changes mid-cycle you reshoot that one line and swap the image.

Your food programme deserves better photos.
